On Thursday, September 3rd, we launched our club with a community-wide event at the Mitchell Park Community Center. With talks from club executives, advisers and partners, we introduced ourselves to the audience (filled with students, parents and adults) and showed them what we are going to implement over the 2015-2016 school year.
Representatives from our club partners such as Ernst & Young and Silicon Valley Talent Partnership detailed why they want to work with Gunn BEAM as well as their visions for the future. After highlighting her experiences growing up in the Silicon Valley and working with Ernst & Young, Sarah Cois said to the students of Gunn BEAM, "I truly believe that each one of you, students included, have thought of a really innovative idea once in your life. We at EY are hoping that we can give you foundation to build on that idea, and really benefit our community."
